Got around nine inches of snow total. My car isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I did get wifey's CX-5 out of the garage and the driveway past the gate somewhat shoveled. The back driveway, though, I just put it in drive and plowed on through. Snow was dragging the undercarriage but not too bad. I basically cleared in front of the garage door and used that as a sort of ramp to get on top of the snow and out through the gate.

I got the CX-5 into the street, so I could let it run for a bit and then shovel the driveway. Had to get a burst of speed up to get back into the driveway, though. Spun a little but just backed up and gave it another try.

We aren't used to this here in Kentucky. It has only snowed over eight inches twice since I was born.

^^ We got another inch and a half since that was taken.

WKU front plate, I see. You're out in the BG area then?

I'm in the central part of the state, south of Lexington. We got about a foot, if not more, up here.

We're from Owensboro, about an hour north of BG. Wifey and I both graduated from WKU, though.

Y'all got a foot? Dang! That blows.

Aren't you guys about to get a ton of ice soon? Or was this that storm?

There is a chance on Friday. Hopefully it won't amount to anything. Thankfully, this storm was all snow.

Yeah, I don't wish ice on anyone. It's seriously wicked cold up here in the surrounding NYC area. Got up today, and before I left the house I checked the thermometer. I wish I didn't even look, because I certainly didn't want to know it was -3.9F when I walked out the door this morning at 6:30am. I feel bad for the field techs I work with doing pre-wire jobs in unfinished houses, because it's just too cold to get anything done safely. They're even saying a lot of the wire is splitting when they try to run the cable, so it's just a mess all around. I'm glad I work in the office, but it's still really rough with everyone being a little on edge about the cold bone-chilling nightmare weather.

We had an ice storm in 2009. Got about a 1/2 inch of ice and more in some places. It pretty much devastated the entire area and kept power out for weeks. I really hope that never happens again. It was truly miserable.

We're getting a storm tonight, but considering how cold it is, I suspect serious amounts of ice to form. Ugh.

Yeah, I hope you don't get much of anything Friday.

Cool. I have a cousin who went to WKU, and I have some family out in Franklin. WKU is a nice school. I actually started to go there.

Eh, sort of. But what can you do? Some forecasters were saying we were overdue for a big snow. Might as well take it on the chin and try to make the best of it somehow.
